Lodging: Please provide any useful information about accommodations in the area. If a local race, please leave blank.
Golden Arrow!! Lake front rooms provide a great communal outdoor space for putting your feet up before the race.
Athlete Check in: Please provide useful information about athlete check in. Did you walk from where you stayed? If not, how was parking?
Athlete check in is held indoors in the conference center, which is a very short walk from the hotel. There usually isn't much of a wait, and you move quickly through each station.
Race Morning Logistics: What time did you leave for transition? Did you leave enough time? Parking? Things you wish you knew or happy you knew before the race. Swim Start
The other huge benefit to staying at Golden Arrow is the close proximity to the swim start. I usually go down to transition early, get my bike stuff set, then head back to the room for breakfast and my swim stuff, and let's be honest, to use the bathroom.
T1: Things you wish you knew or happy you did about T1
Keep it simple! Too many choices can lead to confusion and wasted time in T1.
Bike: Useful information here
The hills are much steeper the second time around. Keeping to my plan, using power, and not getting caught up in the excitement and the hype made for a smart race and left me with legs for the run. Weather and wind can be a huge factor on this course.
T2:
Just the necessities.
Run: Helpful information about the run
Just keep moving forward. The best part about the two loop out and back run is seeing teammates and familiar faces along the way.
