Been playing rec soccer in Brooklyn with a team for the past 8 years.
I was listening to a health and wellness podcast early summer of 2014 which mentioned triathlon. I had no idea the multi sport existed before then. I was intrigued so I relearned how to swim since I could barely swim 25 meters in a pool without stopping for a rest. I purchased off Craigslist a $75 Nishiki road bike and signed up for the last local triathlon that year which was Cedar Beach Triathlon. With 3 months of training, I finished my first sprint. Three years later I crossed the finish line at Ironman Lake Placid. I’ve since found balance in having fun racing Sprint and training for 70.3s.
I do triathlon because it gives me space and time to be present with my thoughts while staying fit and having fun along the way. My wife is also into triathlon! She has done a few sprints and an Olympic.
